Greeted at the entrance of the Obegi Home and Giorgetti Showroom, Dubai by Italian sculptor Stefano Bombardieri’s rendition of a nonchalantly stylish gorilla, the very start of the premise promised guests an evening filled with art and effortlessly soigné furniture pieces.
Envisioned as an art gallery for the event, the showroom put on display elegant and sleek furniture from these two top-notch luxury brands, dotted with works by up and coming artists. Igor Mitoraj, Gustavo Vélez and Jiménez Deredia’s sculptures, for instance, created stunning stop-and-stare points for the visitors. They played a pivotal role in emphasizing the superiority of diligent craftsmanship, in both – furniture and art – as was the vision of the brands.

It started in Beirut and continues in Dubai. Yet another case in point, of art and furniture working together at the premises, was Abol Atighetchi’s paintings that infused colour and wonder amongst the plush and sophisticated furniture. It gave onlookers a peek into what it is like when good art and furniture coalesce. Some of the staged furniture at the showroom also had stories of inspiration behind it, just like the art, while others left a mark with their simple yet impactful designs. Also mirroring this subtle panache and brimming finesse are the interiors of Benetti’s B.Yond 37M Yacht by Giorgetti. Large hull windows in tandem with interiors that flaunt hints of shades reminiscent of sea, create breathtaking vistas both inside and out of the B.Yond 37M Yacht.
The collaboration of these two brands came out to be as seamless as the transition from decks to indoor spaces in the architecture of the yacht. Drawing on it, Ruggero Ottogalli, General Manager, Giorgetti Middle East said, “The partnership on the B.Yond 37M Yacht was a natural marriage between Benetti and Giorgetti – considering the many common traits and values that the two companies share. Benetti’s B.Yond 37M is a testament to the beneficial collaborations between stalwart design brands and what they can achieve when they agree and align their visions for a cause. Sustainability is the primary focus for the design industry worldwide as it should be, but that does not mean it has to be disassociated with luxury, and in this case, both Giorgetti and Benetti, go above and B.Yond to prove that.
