The Results are in! Check out who won at Surge 2018…

After a tough bidding war on, and much deliberation by the judges, the winners were finally announced at Surge’s Design, Dine, Make a Difference Gala last night.

The Address Dubai Marina was abuzz with designers, manufacturers and the many friends, volunteers and well wishers of the organisation, Surge, who came together in their glittering best to celebrate its 10th year.

Titled ReSURGEnce, last night’s Gala hosted works by the eight design firms, selected for their one of a kind product made completely from sustainable materials. Amidst much clinking of glasses, light show entertainment, design talk, good food and general fanfare, the winners were announced, and here they are…

The Winner!

The overall winner, and the winner of the Master Craftsman Award was the very proud team from MMAC Design Associates for The Drop. The designers were incredibly happy to receive the latter too, as their chair design embodies good craftsmanship. The Drop is inspired by the shape of a water drop, hence the name, and is made of 90 percent recycled or upcycled materials. This award winning rocking chair is already garnering interest and potential orders.
