About the project
Located in the heart of the city of Curitiba, the Tasty Salad Shop offers a place to stay in the midst of so many arrivals and departures. On the façade, a window opens completely as an invitation to passersby. The stools at the front door remain part of the street and create a small public space, a meeting place that allows those sitting outside to keep in touch with the interior, a connection between the store and the city. This break creates an opportunity for meetings, a gesture of hospitality through architecture. Inside, the feeling is welcoming.
Naval plywood furniture, a bench, and a collective table facilitate casual conversation and make everyone feel at ease. The brick walls were preserved from the original construction and painted white. There is a burnt cement floor and the gray facade, creating simple finishes and integrating elements. The lighting was created through a suspended grid and the lining painted black, creating a scenic effect. Small details, such as the use of plants and paintings, add warmth.
