About the project
It is a duplex on the 27th floor of central park towers Dubai. With a terrace overlooking Sheikh Zayed road and the waterfront side, the apartment consists of a living room, dining area and a kitchen on the first level and two master bedrooms on the second level.
The client was living in the same building on a higher floor and she bought this apartment with the same layout adding to it the terrace and looking to make it her dream home. She wanted a space that is super cozy and warm with all these hidden dimmable lights. She was also dreaming of a library to show all her books and a totally open kitchen concept that can still hide all the mess. She wanted her home to be so welcoming and elegant for guests and also so comfortable and practical to enjoy it on her own. She loves the dark tones of wood, leather and teal color. Scandinavian elements and an Art Deco wallpaper were also keywords.
Designing a small space gives way to even more Innovation. Hence, the Kitchen was the spark of the design. It ticks the boxes of so many 2021 trends. Designing a no-kitchen kitchen concept, integrated within the library, and having a flawless space was a challenge for Doubleyouinteriors.
This chic-open plan kitchen space conceals the cooking area, allowing the focus to be on entertaining. The wood element dominating in this kitchen with all it’s richness and natural warmth gives you the feeling of instant luxury. Balancing the wood with a statement quartz island top and a backsplash was a must. Doubleyouinteriors also designed an open quartz shelf, styled by serving boards, accessories and cooking books which added personality and resulted in a space that feels homely.
On the other hand, as much as this kitchen looks minimal and luxurious it is so practical and functional. Lots of storage goes in there, pocket doors to hide all the small appliances and have them reachable at the same time, laundry area , pull-out units and a supermarket to have all the food goods stored in one place and not scattered around in numerous wall cupboards, meaning more organization. And finally 250x120cm island, with storage from all sides, is the star of this kitchen. A feature of the décor in this project is the mixture of wood with accent furniture. From a 6meter high wooden library that is packed with books and styled with beautiful accessories to two sleek teal in color.
