About the project
This project required a re-design and remodel of a 450 square metre, single storey space inside the Philip Morris SA headquarters building, into meeting rooms that would also be suitable for video conferences and training activities. Both, the design and drafting work was carried out by mimaristudio, and as always, the end result was awe-inspiring.
Five meeting and training rooms were creatively crafted out to make maximum use of the natural light coming through the hall. A prominent criterion was that of comfort and proper lighting, which has special importance in the video conferencing rooms where lighting levels are crucial.
All the meeting tables and fixed furniture were designed by mimaristudio, and the ceiling and lighting in two of the meeting rooms were manufactured by them as well. In addition to a common use kitchen, separate food and beverage service corners were created for each room.
Carpet tiling with different colours, textures, shape and scale allowed for unique floor graphics, reflecting different interior concepts for each room, and custom made fixed furniture was matched with wallpaper of varying features and textures. Furthermore, the interior facades of all the different spaces are designed independently but fit perfectly as part of a whole.
