“A passion for fibers, a love of colour, and a respect for craftsmanship are the foundations of our company’s philosophy”
– Katia Dewitte, Founder, Limited Edition
A bit about the Brand
Limited Edition was born in the nineties in Katia Dewitte’s backyard in her family home. Starting with sisal rugs, she quickly acquired the know-how and contacts to develop a flourishing business. Katia’s family hails from the Flemish textile industry, and so a passion for fibre and an eye for colour were always part of her DNA.
When the opportunity arose to purchase a tufting mill, the family did not hesitate to step forward. This would allow them to take production into their own hands while simultaneously safeguarding the elegant and age-old craft of tufting.
Over time, Limited Edition has become an international player with over 200 employee and showrooms in Paris and Brussels, and an impressive list of prestigious clients and projects. Still, local ties and a personal approach play an important role.
Today, Katia Dewitte runs the company together with her husband, Philippe Hanet, and her brother, James Dewitte. Together, they have turned Limited Edition into a vertically integrated venture, doing as much as they can under one roof. Weaving, tufting dyeing, spinning wool and more. All these steps are undertaken at their own mills and factories, ensuring superior quality and service from beginning to end. The products are made entirely in Belgium, delivering quality and impeccable service. Every piece is made on demand. This means they offer a high level of personality and customisation – all products can be personalised in colour, shape and size. This is evident in their aesthetics as the rugs really stand out. They are the wonderful result of hours or even days of intensive manual work.
Limited Edition strives for a sustainable approach in each step, and the company employs state-of-the-art manufacturing processes and initiatives to keep up to speed. In a world that is changing fast, ecology and sustainability are an integral part of their philosophy.
“Slow, sustainable and stylish, we believe that a feel for aesthetics can go hand in hand with respect for the environment,” says Katia
