Louis Poulsen Now On Love That Design

With a strong Danish design heritage, and a design legacy to match, Louis Poulsen’s stunning lighting designs are both iconic and beautiful, and have truly stood the test of time. We are proud to welcome them on board Love That Design.

Louis Poulsen is a Danish lighting manufacturer born out of the Scandinavian design tradition where form follows function. The function and design of their products are tailored to reflect and support the rhythm of natural light. Every detail in the design has a purpose. Every design starts and ends with light.

Louis Poulsen has always sought, not only to design lamps, but also to shape light and create an atmosphere that makes people feel good, both in and outdoors. According to the brand’s ethos, the shape of light creates the space and the products should live harmoniously within the space they define – indirect, soft and inviting.

Even though the company dates to the late 1800s, their true design history started in 1924 when the brand collaborated with designer Poul Hennigsen to create the Paris Lamp. Later on, in 1926, he created the three-shade system that perfectly determines the distribution of light.

About Louis Poulsen

“Ultimately, we design to shape light to create ambience, and our luminaires, can simply be placed ANYWHERE”

– Nader Fleihan, Business Development Manager, Middle East

The brand’s edge

At its core, Louis Poulsen is a technical lighting company that collaborates with world class designers to create outstanding products. Some of the famous designers in their portfolio include Arne Jacobsen, Verner Panton, Øivind Slaatto, Alfred Homann, Oki Sato and recently Christian Flindt. With such an impressive list, the brand has firmly established itself as one of the key global suppliers of architectural and decorative lighting. Defying traditional product categories, their products serve and span the professional and private lighting markets for both indoor and outdoor applications.

“It is scientifically proven that light affects how we feel,” says Nader Fleihan, Business Development Manager ME, Louis Pousen. “Since lighting is a discipline on its own, we meet and engage with people and companies who are keen to bring quality into their projects.”

On many occasions, the brand has designed its own LED engines to achieve the desired light output, and they also provide custom solutions for permanent installations.

Plans for growth in the MENA region

Their project portfolio in the region is diverse, spreading across residential, hospitality, education and corporate spaces, to even parks and gardens.

The brand focuses on two product launches each year, one in spring and one in autumn, which keeps their portfolio fresh and relevant.

“We share a genuine passion for design and light, and with Love that Design, we have a platform to bring valuable information, and extend our philosophy to the A&D community. We look forward to more collaborations with the regions’ incredible and exciting projects.”
