Evoteq, Dubai

14 May , 2019

The design for Dubai-based digital and tech solutions company, Evoteq, features a series of flexible, activity based working spaces that are tied together to form an immersive and interactive office within an open plan space. Designed by Roar (Pallavi Dean Interiors), with fit-out by Optimize Technical Services LLC, the inspiration for the office stems from binary codes with angular shapes (representing the 1’s) paired with circles (the 0’s).

The design brief was to create a space that could easily be rearranged to host meetings, run workshops, or launch products. It was also important that the furniture that was incorporated serve as a creative collaborator to inspire engagement within the team. Providing a variety of workspaces was crucial to the design brief, which led to the creation of two lounge areas for spontaneous brainstorming sessions and informal meetings. In one of these spaces, away from the main work floor, a slatted screen offers a sense of privacy and enclosure, while a mini social media zone outside one of the meeting rooms provides additional privacy.

The CEO and COO’s shared office highlights Evoteq’s corporate culture of an open door communication policy. This space is accessible to everyone through a series of pivoting glass doors. The design also features a less traditional boardroom with a glass encased circular space that nurtures the idea that everyone is equal, and features writable glass surfaces.

Roar also designed a collaborative workstation by the window that serves not only as a hot desk but an ideal deep workspace. Another stand out feature is the suspended floating desk with deep red Rosso Levanto marble, that acts as a collaborative brainstorming and meeting area.

The majority of the flooring is marble, with some carpet and wood flooring, and a series of rugs incorporated in the main work areas and meeting rooms for acoustic purposes. A suspended ceiling light sculpture also pays subtle homage to the binary system, while herringbone patterned wood inlays sit beside Volakas marble flooring, bringing warmth to the overall look.
