KPS were appointed to design and build Nokia’s new offices in U-Bora Tower, Business Bay. The overall office layout consists of a mix of workstations and collaborative areas, with glass partitions for a spacious and relaxed feel. The design concept was inspired by the colours and culture of the Middle East, and this is reflected in the reception wall, ceiling and front office. The designers have managed to make the theme blend well with Nokia’s strict guidelines by making use of their branding colours and imagery throughout the project, which could have been challenging at times.
Some carpets and ceiling material was reused, while new carpets were introduced in the main corridors, collaboration areas and client facing area, with new ceilings in the reception and front of house meeting rooms.
One of the main conditions stipulated by the client was to maintain the simplicity of the Scandinavian look and feel, with clean straight lines and bright yet gentle hues, and that has been achieved.
